I’m a 64-year-old advocate of Objectivism (the philosophy of Ayn Rand), writer, pianist, spontaneous singer (just give me a cue), punster, word-player, analyst, reserved until you know me and I feel comfortable (does that make me a reservist?), systematizer, messy but organized (I know where everything is; really), sentimental, benevolent and optimistic (about myself and most people at the personal level), pessimistic (about the future of the United States), professorish, man.
EDUCATION
After High School I formally studied in three different fields, all in the Arts and Humanities: Music (piano performance) at Juilliard and the University of Maryland; acting at Maryland and Circle in the Square; and philosophy at University of Pittsburgh, University of Maryland (B. A. with honors) and Ohio State University (two years toward PhD). To say I was conflicted about the career I wanted to pursue—all of them difficult and single tracked—is an understatement. In short, the perfect education for a writer..
